The financial crisis in Europe is hitting all businesses and all levels of competence. So far, Oslo has manouvered past the major difficulties. The organisation for the ICT industry, ICT Norway in Homansbyen, looks on the bright side:
”Oslo is a good place to live. Our high quality of life makes it easier to attract people who wants a better work-free time-balance in their life,” says Freihow
Oslo Teknopol and ICT Norway share some goals, and cooperate sometimes on an operative level, for instance on Oslo Innovation Week.
Software development
Oslo has been the scene for development of software companies that have been bought up by foreign capital. And more recently Oslo has experienced an impressive growth in mobile apps.
”The best thing about ICT is that you can operate a business from anywhere. Still most people are attracted to cities like Oslo or Trondheim, because of the two highly merited universities of information technology,” says Freihow.
